Cleveland’s Music Festival

June 6-7, 2020

Celebrating Five Years In Northeast Ohio

New Name + New Venue

CLEVELAND, OH (November 20, 2019) The Elevation Group, creators and producers of Cleveland’s only annual multi-stage, multi-act international contemporary music festival announced today the festival’s new name and new location.  The festival’s new name is WonderStruck In Clevelandand the event will move from its previous location at Laurel School’s Butler Campus in Russell and Chester Townships to the the campus of Lakeland Community College in the gorgeous Cleveland suburb of Kirtland, complete with onsite parking for many festival attendees.

Lakeland Community College sits on 400 acres of picturesque, rolling, wooded countryside and is home to the historic Mooreland Mansion. Enrolling more than 10,000 students annually, Lakeland has hosted many major events throughout its history, including training camps for the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers and performances by the Cleveland Orchestra.

The WonderStruck lineup will be announced in mid-January, and festival fans can expect a similar musical vibe to the previous four years. At that time, Elevation will release the official poster and festival art. The 2020 lineup will be the biggest in the five-year history of the festival – with artists boasting a combined monthly listenership on Spotify of over 100 million people – more than double the number of Spotify fans in any other year.

As always, the lineup will represent multiple countries from around the world.  Past performers have included: Grammy Award winners Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr., Stephen Marley and Brandi Carlile; Grammy nominees Foster The People, Trombone Shorty and Hozier; plus Lewis Capaldi, The Head and The Heart, Fitz & The Tantrums, Michael Franti, AJR, Grace Potter, X Ambassadors, Young The Giant, Cold War Kids, Judah & The Lion, Magic Giant and many others.

“We loved our four-year relationship with Laurel School and we are forever grateful to the school for taking a chance on the festival.  We will always look back on the Butler Campus with fond memories, particularly our working relationship with the Laurel high school students who joined our operations team each year,” stated festival producer Steve Lindecke.  “Continued growth is important to the sustainability of any large-scale event, and Lakeland Community College provides us with the space necessary to execute on our vision.  Plus, as we learned this past August at WonderBus, our new Columbus music festival, onsite parking is a highly valuable asset. We are thrilled that Lakeland Community College and their administration are welcoming us and our style of music festival, one appropriate for all ages.”

Kirtland, located just 22 miles from downtown Cleveland, provides an ideal and easily accessible location for WonderStruck. Lakeland Community College’s front entrance is a mere three-tenths of a mile from the I-90 Exit 193. Onsite parking will be available for many festival attendees, decreasing total commute times from most Northeast Ohio communities (see below).  Additionally, rideshare (Lyft and Uber) options will be robust given the proximity to Interstates 90 and 271 as well as increased cellular service.

Lakeland Community College president Morris Beverage said, “At Lakeland, our purpose is to impact lives through learning which includes arts and cultural opportunities. The music festival will bring new visitors to campus, complement our robust Arts at Lakeland programming, and provide music lovers across the region with a first-hand glimpse of our campus community, state-of-the-art facilities, and students-first culture. Together with Elevation Group, we will continue to build memories through music at Lakeland.”

Lakeland Community College is located at 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland, Ohio 44094.

Elevation, a recognized leader in producing live entertainment events including WonderStruck and WonderBus, has partnered with Ohio native Cliff Chenfeld – co-founder and former owner of leading indie record label Razor & Tie Music and Kidz Bop; Michelle Wesley, a Cleveland-based businesswoman, philanthropist and founder of Music Elevates; and Columbus business leader Rick Milenthal to produce both music festivals.
